Presentations, Workshops, Webinars, and Podcasts

General Information

Katie Chambers presenting to an audience, she is standing and speaking while pointing to a presentation on a screen.

If you’ve ever booked a speaker, you know what a relief it is to find someone who’s both engaging and informative.

I’m that kind of speaker.

As a former English teacher—once called the best my principal had ever seen—I know how to organize complex ideas and present them with clarity. Clear, actionable content is the backbone of all my presentations.

But let’s be honest: even the most informative talk can flop if the speaker is dry or dull.

That’s where my theatre geek roots and speech-and-debate wins come in. I bring the energy. I bring the fun. I bring a deep love of teaching—and a flair for making any topic come alive.

If you want a speaker who’s dynamic, polished, and deeply practical, I’d love to chat.

Katie is a tech-savvy, polished presenter. I was only able to make it to one of her sessions, but I immediately wished I had been at the others. She was thorough and provided a ton of resources. Her physical handouts were relevant (and not redundant, as can sometimes be the case!) The information in her slides was also dynamic and presented well—she wasn’t just reading stuff the audience could themselves read. It was evident that she was prepared and that she cared about the topic. She was also thoughtful in answering questions at the end. Sign me up for the next one!

Amy Carbo, Client Interactions and Management Presentation

This presentation was a genuine wow factor for me. I already have a website, but was amazed at the information I did not know, and the way it should be laid out on screen for viewers. Katie was an amazing presenter and made the class not feel like a class. I really wish her class could have gone longer as the information she provided was invaluable.
Thank you, and I look forward to more classes from you!

It was incredibly thorough and the presenter was very clear, organized, and just overall impressive both in her presentation and in the work (tracking) she is doing. Also she was very generous. I enjoyed envisioning all the different administrative aspects that I could learn to track to improve my work as a freelancer.

Featured Podcast Interviews

If your podcast speaks to editors, authors, creative entrepreneurs, or moms balancing business and babies—I’m here to bring the practical magic.

I’m an organizational expert, former English teacher, and editing agency owner who helps editors run their businesses with ease and authors write with power. As the founder of Beacon Point, I lead a team of editors polishing both fiction and nonfiction, and I teach the craft of writing with the same clarity and energy that once earned me the title “best English teacher” a principal had ever seen.

After becoming a mom, I had to reimagine my career, and editing became my second act. Within three months of working with Self-Publishing School authors, I was named their top preferred editor. Since then, I’ve helped hundreds of authors sharpen their writing and bring their message to life. Whether it’s writing structure, revision strategies, character development, or crafting compelling nonfiction, I love making the writing process feel less mysterious and more empowering.

But I don’t just edit—I teach. I’ve been called the “admin queen” by editors I mentor and a “favorite conference speaker” for making business systems actually fun. I help freelance editors and creative solopreneurs streamline their workflow, manage clients with confidence, and finally stop drowning in email. I’m also a full-time mom and full-time business owner, so I speak honestly about the messy balance of running a business while raising a family, and how to build systems that support your life, not the other way around.

Your audience will walk away with practical strategies, encouragement, and a few laughs—whether they’re writers fine-tuning their craft, editors building a business, or moms just trying to do both without burning out.

Stephanie Wheeless, Effective Website Content Presentation (in-person presentation)

KATIE IS AN EXCELLENT GUEST, A GREAT SPEAKER, AND SHE SHARED LOTS OF USEFUL INFORMATION.

Paul Trammell, Dream Chasers and Eccentrics podcast

I walked away with six pages of notes and a pain in my stomach from laughing so hard. Katie is funny and knowledgeable.

Submitted in anonymous batch from EFA, Client Interactions and Management Presentation (in-person presentation)

Katie’s presentation on client interactions and management was excellent. She covered a lot of ground in a down-to-earth and engaging way. The four pages of notes I took and the handouts I downloaded afterward provided a solid base for reworking and improving my processes for onboarding, working with, and following up with clients. There was a good balance between high level objectives and detailed examples, which was helpful for applying the ideas to my own business.

Angie McCauley, Client Interactions & Management Presentation (in-person presentation)

This guest was absolutely brilliant on this episode! Her expertise came through in every answer, and she made complex ideas easy to follow. I loved her practical approach and the actionable advice she shared.

Danielle Hutchinson, Authors on a Mission podcast

The content was engaging and I liked the pace at which the presenter presented with. The information was valuable and I enjoyed having a deeper look at a piece of creating literature that I encounter all of the time. Wonderful job overall!

Katelin Ralenkotter, Beauty of Beats and Free Indirect Speech (online webinar)

The speaker had great energy, and a good sense of humour. Her presentation style was personable and relaxed while remaining professional. I would attend other sessions by this presenter.

Katie only knows one way to do things .. with her full heart and successfully. That is her resume and her love of the written word exudes from all she does .. wonderful story .. better guest .. tune in.

Joe Dimino, Famous Interviews podcast

Katie ran an amazing workshop on revamping websites. Not only was she giving critical information, but she also helped apply her teachings as she assisted and critiqued each person around the room. Her upbeat attitude kept my excitement going the entire time, even during the stretches of individual work. Katie certainly knows what she’s talking about, and her help and guidance were invaluable to my website.

Jeanette Smith, Revamping Website Workshop (in-person workshop)

I work on my own, and I have my own way of doing things (some deliberate, some just happened along the way). It is very helpful to see how someone else handles work flow, troubleshoots issues we all have, talks about what works (and doesn’t). I thought this was a great subject that got me to rethink some of what I do and take it to the next level. Great for people starting out, too. Katie was generous with the details, and I appreciate the time/effort she saved me by making the necessary tasks more efficient. Thank you! Webinars like this one are what keep me happily renewing membership and recommending EFA to new editors and my colleagues.

Speaker provided specific examples and tips that are not common advice, and they are so applicable. Thank you!

Submitted in anonymous batch from ACES, Effective Website Content That Sells You (in-person presentation)

So much great information here. I loved Katie’s distinction between systems and processes and how that plays out for all the aspects of admin and management. I made three pages of notes, and there’s also a huge list of resources to explore. It’s also great to hear how others approach their business and planning, and it’s enabled me to reflect and see what I’m doing well and where I can make adjustments. I’ll be looking up more from Beacon Point soon!

Sam, Fine-Tuning Your Processes (online webinar)

I hadn’t planned on attending this session (doors had closed on the other ones) but found it surprisingly informative. Speaker was dynamic and knew her stuff. I liked that she moved around and didn’t just stand behind a podium. Well done!

Submitted in anonymous batch from ACES, Effective Website Content That Sells You (in-person presentation)

Katie is an engaging and dynamic speaker. The content was very helpful, particularly the FIS. I was able to apply it immediately to a chapter I’m editing in my book.
